Band of Bards Comics is proud to officially announce that we have signed Ben Humeniuk (WAKING LIFE, THE MAGNIFICENT MAKERS) to a publishing contract for his YA graphic novella BRO-D CAN’T BE BROKEN!
Ben, a member of the Phoenix Comics Collective, has a special talent for crafting stories for younger readers that can appeal to an older audience as well. His unique storytelling combined with his wondrous illustrations will captivate comics lovers of all ages while delivering a heartwarming tale of coming of age and triumph.
BRO-D is an action-packed novella taking place in the year 2095. Humanity is on the right track to recover from catastrophic climate change and to begin a new era of advancement. People from every background intermingle in clean megacities across the globe, and a commitment to tolerance marks their developing international society. Without warning a group of beings called Deywṓs, who claim to be Earth’s ancient gods, are harassing the human cities, attacking their supply chains and damaging their defensive forces, all in an effort to confuse and divide humanity back into submission to their rule.
The only hope for humanity to halt Bregghammer, the Deywṓs’ greatest warrior, is Bro-D, a genetically-modified teen who was altered and trained to save lives in the face of a mass crisis. Practically invulnerable, Bro-D will engage Bregghammer in a running battle of fists, weapons, and will. This is a showdown between an immovable teen and an unstoppable godling.
BRO-D CAN’T BE BROKEN is a 60-page oversized novella that fans of My Hero Academia, Attack on Titan, Fullmetal Alchemist, or Bleach will not want to miss! Expect great peril, heightened emotion, and epic drama that can only be brought to you by Ben Humeniuk. Publication in print and digital formats is scheduled for September 2022, with a likely Kickstarter campaign in early summer 2022 for the purpose of marketing and initial sales.
