We are looking for aspiring Creators, and Artists to work with on future projects!

Thanks for stopping by! We want to quickly take a moment to introduce ourselves. We’re Band of Bards, a new Independent publishing company. We are seeking to publish original creator-owned projects, that you own, and will retain all the ownership rights to. Whether you’re working on a traditional comic, graphic novel, or web comic–We want you to be part of the family!

Currently we are only accepting submissions of completed and ready to publish projects.

We’re excited that you’re here.

Send us your Pitch!

Gather your materials! Your pitch should present the artistic, narrative, and thematic elements of your project. Make sure it contains the following:

  1. cover letter introducing yourself (and your team, if you have one), and the project you want to pitch. We also hope you’ll take the time to let us know what you’re looking for in a publisher. We want to be as creator-centric as possible, and this early feedback is important! This letter should also include your contact information (name, email, and phone numbers) clearly marked at the top of the page.
  2. summary and outline of your entire story arc, its major plot points, and all the spoilers. Tell us everything that you have planned out, and please include a timeline – every twist and turn is important. We promise we won’t leak it!
  3. Main Character Designs – Please send completed Character turn-arounds. If your characters have gone through design changes let us see where you started as well! We want to know them as well as you!
  4. Five (or more) complete sequential pages of the comic. These should showcase your abilities, and style. Feel free to send us a mix of your best finished work, test pages, even cut pages that you feel hit the dead center of the circular file. We’re more concerned with seeing that you really understand the medium, and you can tell your story. Most of all, that you can grow!
  5. Script and page thumbnails – We want to see your planning process, and how you develop your ideas. Please include a chapter’s worth of script, and at least two thumbnailed pages.
  6. Your intended production plan– Tell us what sets your story apart from other comics, and who your audience is. (be specific, as “everyone” does not read the same stuff). Include the planned length of the comic, and what you envision it to be– Is it in print, or published digitally on the web? Is it full color or black and white? Is it a mini-series, or on-going… maybe a graphic novel? Don’t be shy, tell us about you want to create!

Things to think about:

Please do not submit work that utilizes trademarked characters from other publishers (ex. Wolverine, Superman, etc.). Characters which exist in the public domain are A-OK, but do your homework and make sure you know what you’re getting into. You may also want to check out Copyright.gov for more information.

Due to the high volume of submissions being received we are unable to respond to each pitch individually. If you don’t hear from us within six weeks of your submission, please consider your pitch declined.

We’re not looking for any specific story or genre. We are looking for comics that are well written, well drawn, and created by good people who are dedicated to starting and completing their story.

Band of Bards does not own your intellectual property—accepted or not—your property is yours, and yours alone.

Please only submit one proposal at a time.

Last but not least, all accepted submissions will be responded to via email.

If you’ve read the guidelines above and are prepared to submit your pitch, please complete the form below!

If you experience any issues with submitting your pitch, please send us an email at: info@bandofbards.com.
