Band of Bards is proud to announce ‘The Cauldron’, a new one-shot and a partnership with C.J. Hudson’s Warn Everyone! Comics studio!
It’s been a while, but now that FROM THE STATIC‘s first order window is coming to a close through PreviewsWorld, we wanted to take a moment to talk a bit more about our new collaboration with creator C.J. Hudson and his studio, Warn Everyone!.
Founded in 2018 as a creative studio focused on developing original content for publishers. Warn Everyone! Comics has created nearly a dozen titles in various stages of production including Interstellar Dust (Antarctic Press), and Intergalactic Academy (Ad Astra Team Media).
Starting a comics studio this day and age is far from a simple task. Limited resources (ie: Money) make it far less common to see this approach taken than in the nineties when Image Comics was formed. “I had a writing/creative partner who was really interested in making comics, so being a brand made sense since there was two of us.” said C.J., “The Payoff came when we landed the deal with Ad Astra.”
“Our goal moving forward is to Crowdfund projects to generate cash flow, and then partner with publishers for a direct market edition of the comic. I don’t think projects can be successful without two editions now.” remarked C.J., “There’s too much competition and not enough comic shops, so you are leaving half an available audience out in the cold if you only focus on a single path.”
Band of Bards is happy to announce that we’ll be bringing four titles (to start off) to stores over the next couple of years, including Vigia, Lycan, Hunters, and The Cauldron!
A lot of neat things are growing out of our anthology FROM THE STATIC (a lot we can’t talk about yet…), but we’d like to take this moment to talk about, ‘The Cauldron’, a 9 page short from our new horror anthology. Written by C.J. Hudson, with art by Ile Gonzalez, and lettered by Corey Breen, the story introduces a young witch named Cza who is just trying to navigate her life, and all the mistakes along the way.

FROM THE STATIC granted us a unique opportunity to really see what the comic community had to offer in regard to horror. There is no doubt that the love of fright flows deep in our veins and we have big plans for the future of FROM THE STATIC headed into late 2023 and early 2024… until then The Cauldron – A Haunting of You will happily hold everyone over! (October 2023)
